Winter visitors and permanent residents

The robins often come to visit us in winter

and so do the grackles

It wouldn't be winter without the goldfinches... However, when they turn bright yellow, they leave us to breed farther North.

The turtles at the pond are happiest when there is a place for them to perch and bake in the sun

We love our bluebirds... and enjoy the fact that they stay with us all year

The cardinals too are always around

and so are the blue jays

Less common visitors include the red-shoulder hawk and the yellow-rumped warbler
